I Need a Vacation
Posted by: Steven Hirsch, on: Thursday, April 19th 2007
Whew! What a great way to end the day. I just saw the final episode of our series on Debbie and I really liked it.
Of course, we work with some interesting people, but I have to say that after watching the entire series, everyone did an incredible job. And, I want to thank them all, because if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be getting such a great response to the show. It's funny, we shoot more than 60 movies a year, but I don't think we've ever spent as much time together as we did making this show. Sure, we seem a little dysfunctional sometimes, but it works.
World of Wonder has got to be the best docudrama/reality show producer out there. They wanted the honesty of our lives to come through and I think it did. For better or worse, the show really reflected what was going on.
I like the way this last episode brings everything together. Cassidey is just, well, she's Cassidey. She's on her own time clock in her own parallel universe. But, check out her scene with her mashed potatoes - it's a classic. She really came through for Eon's version of Debbie, which we'll release later this year.
It was great to see how powerful Savanna's raw sexuality can be, even a little threatening to the other actresses, but Stefani, Monique, Cassidey and Sunny all held their own. It seems that Sunny still can't make up her mind about whether or not to work with guys, but I think she's leaning in that direction. Monique has proven herself to be quite the actress and has become our "go to girl" when an unexpected opportunity comes along. Eon's really a great guy and I am proud of the job he did. Shailar continues to prove himself shoot after shoot. And as for PT...I've never met anyone even remotely like him. We are lucky to have him at Vivid (even though he tries my patience which comes through in the series even more than I was aware). I think the fans will enjoy seeing all the girls getting together to shoot the box cover... it was a sight to behold.
I need a vacation after this. Well, maybe a short one, 'cause there's too much happening and I've gotta got to be here.
Once again, thanks to everyone involved in the show and thanks to all of you who watched every week. It was a lot of fun and hopefully we will be back soon with all new episodes.
One Giant Dysfunctional Family

Hi there,
Well, I've just finished watching the 6th episode and I must say I think it is funny. Pure comedy really. I think this just shows the "ups" and "downs" that any industry has. Not everyone is perfect and I think this show proves just that. I am really gonna try and work on not being late to my sets, but WTF not everyone is perfect and if the worst thing anyone can say is Cassidey you're late, well who cares... As for PT and Shylar... fucking funny shit that day when the cops came to the set. I am still laughing... Eon was sweating it. I believe though the filming of these movies brought all of us closer but does not mean we are not still one GIANT dysfunctional family. None the less at the end of the day I think we all have a special lil' spot in our hearts for each other. I am really interested to see what happens in next week's episode.
P.S.
I am currently still NOT trying to be an f-ing pop star thank you... I just want to be a pornstar baby!!!! Where else do u get to fuck all these beautiful people? Well, I guess if u travel like me then... everywhere but that is completely besides the point...
It's All About Focus
Posted by: Sunny Leone, on: Friday, April 6th 2007
Hi there,
So when Vivid came to us and said that we were going to do a reality show I had no idea it would turn out to be as much fun and as exciting as it was. I just watched episode five and as you saw it was full of lies and deceit, oh... and some fun.
It's funny, people always think that we have the easiest job. Yes, it's fun and yes, it's somewhat easy, but it's also very physically demanding and physically draining. To give the girls the benefit of the doubt, they were probably on the set for about 12 hours. On the other hand, we all know that this what our job is all about. It always sounds a little weird to me when girls complain about how long they are on set. The difference between a photo shoot and a major film is that you are going to spend at least 12 hours on a film set. That should be expected and accepted without complaining. On most mainstream movies you are lucky if you are there for only 12 hours. I know that Monique gets this but I am not sure that Stefani does. I know for a fact that Monique and I have worked very hard to get to where we are.
When I heard that Monique was contemplating moving in with Stefani, I said the same thing to her that Shaylar said. I love Monique and genuinely care for her well being. I think she made the right decision in the end.
I have two favorite parts in this episode, one is where Tommy Pistol explains how he shaves his ass. I thought that was so funny and so true. All of us shave and the method is exactly how he explains it and as dangerous. You can't see under there and you have to be very careful. The other was when Monique got out of living with Stefani. The look on Stefani's face was priceless.
The scene I had to do with Lacie Heart had all the makings of a disaster. I decided to take matters into my own hands and see what I could do to calm everyone down. Surprisingly, not only did we shoot the scene, it turned out to be pretty hot! It's all about focus.
There was so much drama on the set that night with Stefani and Lacie that I don't think they could have handled me throwing a tantrum too.
I can't wait to see the next episode and see what happens. I hope you are enjoying this show as much as I am. See you all soon.
A Real Cinderella Story
Posted by: Eon McKai, on: Friday, March 30th 2007
Hello everyone,
So I just saw episode 4 and would love to know what you guys thought. I had to make so many hard choices during this one.
I really wanted to get the green light on my version of Debbie. I had a great script and had most of my cast together. I know that Steven has a feel for what's going to work. He'll know if I'm prepared because he knew PT wasn't and I still needed a Debbie.
I got a call from Cassidey requesting to meet with me. I heard she was hard to deal with and I had no interest in working with any Vivid girls. But I felt like I needed to meet her out of respect. I was new at Vivid and not always fitting in. What you see in the show is just a small portion of our conversation. We covered a lot of ground and at some point I realized that she was for real. Cassidey is a bit of a black sheep as far as the Vivid girls go. I decided to take a chance on her even though I was extremely hesitant. I had the feeling I might be selling out. But I wanted to make this movie and needed a Debbie Steven could get behind.
Bringing the cast to meet Steven was a total culture clash. In the show you can tell how uncomfortable the girls are in Steven's office. It was early on in the shoot for the girls. The reality show's crew combined with the environment at plush Vivid offices were intimidating. Steven was much more guarded but you can tell he is not sure what to make of these girls. It's clear that my job here at Vivid is a real Cinderella story.
When I went to Steven for the last time he really put me on the spot... which is only something he does when there is a lot on the line. His approval means a lot to me. Not just because I get to make my movie, but because Steven believes in me enough to let me put a new spin on one of porn's biggest brands.
The problem is now that PT and Shylar are threatened by me. I need to fit in at Vivid, but, I came here to make alt porn as big as it can be. PT is a legend, but I if I don't dig in now I'm set to be a one hit wonder in the porn biz and who wants to go out like that?
Seriously, Who Doesn't Love Seeing Boobs?

Hey everyone Monique Alexander here, so its episode 3 of our reality show "Debbie Does Dallas...Again" and I don't know about you but I can't wait to see episode 4.
Episode 3 was packed with drama & controversy don't ya think? Boy, Steven was not happy when he found out that PT had not picked a Debbie a week before we were scheduled to shoot. When Steven brought us in to audition front of PT, Marci and himself you might not have been able to tell, but the tension was bad. Lacie and Cassidey were not taking the audition seriously. They should not have even bothered coming. Then there's Sunny, who I love, but won't do guys so she shouldn't have even been there and Stefani and me who both wanted it but for totally different reasons.
See.....I believe that I should have gotten the part of Debbie because I have been with the company longer and I can act and its a huge movie. The biggest movie Vivid has done since I've been there. Then there's Stefani who says she was promised the role of Debbie when she signed her contract. So when she has to audition like the rest of us she was not happy, as I am sure you noticed, and came into the room with an attitude.
Steven wasn't playing around when he told her she needed to decide if she really wanted the part and asked her to leave.
SEE YA!!!!!
I loved the part when we hosted the wet t-shirt contest. Seriously, who doesn't love seeing boobs? That's also when we got to meet Tiffany Taylor, that friend of Cassidey's. Cassidey can talk anyone into anything can't she and convinced Tiffany to be in the contest by telling her she might get the chance to have a meeting with Steven and maybe even get a Vivid contract. Who knew it would really happen?!!!!!! Sort of... even though Tiffany didn't win the contest Marci asked her to come to Vivid to meet with Steven anyway, even though I don't think Marci really liked her very much.
How about when Steven told Cassidey he was hearing bad things about her being late all the time and that her scenes weren't as good as they could be??? Boy was she pissed but why was she blaming the rest of us? What did we do??? Now I'm pissed.
Then there's the moment we had all been waiting for!
Who was going to get the role of Debbie? It was down to Stefani and me. Drum roll please... hehe...
and the winner of the role of Debbie goes to (oh man I hope its me) Stefani Morgan.
Oh well....I guess I can't win all the time...hehe. Ok.... so there it is. Stefani got to be Debbie, but, stay tuned because the drama is just beginning.
I Have One of the Very Best Jobs in the World
Posted by: Paul "PT" Thomas, on: Friday, March 16th 2007
I have one of the very best jobs in the world. I've had it for 25 years and with luck it will be my last job. So, as challenging, as tedious, s crazy as things might get, I have little room to complain. But still, like anyone else, can find plenty to bitch about....
"PT, I want you to do a remake of Debbie Does Dallas. I want it to be better than the original. I want you to use a lot of girls like the original Debbie." Said Steve, my boss for over two decades. He thinks I can just toss off one classic after another. He expects that every time I step out on the court I will deliver a slam dunk mega-hit. Well, it all sounds good on paper, in the comfort of his plush office, but out in the field, the reality of re-creating one of the most successful adult films ever can get real sticky.
The temptation is always to take the subject matter in a different direction that the original. To put one's own stamp on this classic. I wanted to make it darker, more serious, more deeply intense. "Let's look into Debbie's psyche, find out what makes her tick.
Maybe explore her worst fears, expose her. Maybe a psychological thriller. Debbie Does the Dark."
"No,no no Pt...I want to stay within the same light, humorous spirit of the original," said Steven. "Don't make Debbie into The Masseuse.* The audience has expectations from Debbie. Let's not let them down." So, putting my comedy hat on but still intent on creating an approach of my own, still wanting to look a little deeper into Debbie's head than the original, I started working on the story and the casting - which always go hand in hand.
Having all these gorgeous Vivid Girls at my beck and call can be a mixed blessing. These thoroughbreds that we look so hard to find each come with a personal litany of do's and don'ts that must be considered.
Professional behavior takes on different meaning in an adult film. As much as I'd like to simply demand that the girls learn their lines, come to the set on time, and do precisely what I tell them, when real hard core sex is on the line there is often compromise involved. Each girl has her list of guys and girls she is willing to have sex with, as well as which sexual practices she will engage in. For instance.. Stefani will have sex with two guys at once but will not fuck one again after she has fucked the other, and only at night as the last scene of the day - and no anal, forget it. Monique prefers one on one; if multiple partners are involved she would rather a girl and a guy; if any rough treatment is needed she wants to be the one to dish it out; she will do anal but insists on 6" or less; and on and on ad infinitum, ad nauseum. On top of that, consider that there are precious few guys who can walk, talk, and chew gum and who are cool enough to make the cut, and you get an inkling of the challenges I have in casting.
But I need all the cooperation of the very best our industry has to offer.
I don't need my own goddamned company competing with me for talent, story ideas, locations or available funds. I need all the coddling and catering to I can get to pull another rabbit out of my hat. So, the news that Mr..Eon Schmeon McKai would be vying for Debbie honors with me, and would receive equal consideration within my own company, at first pissed me off.
It felt an unnecessary burden. Why ruffle the feathers of the great genius (me) just as he is discovering his creative muse for Debbie? And what the fuck is "Alt Porn" anyway? Punk rock, Jonny Rotten, Jack Kerouac, Alan Ginsberg, Betty Page wannabees. Ain't nothin' new under my sun, just repackaged Warhol. "OK, I can use this," I thought. Use this to spur my competitive instincts. Some young pseudo-hip buck thinks he's gonna usurp moi, the most awarded schmuck ever, still in my prime (we'll discuss that later)? Stevie baby, leave with the the bitch who you brought to the dance! Problem is this Eon Mckai is just too likeable. He actually seems to respect me. He actually seems to know a thing or two abut a thing or two. So hey, I've got every penny from my Bar Mitzvah saved, I have no reason to feel insecure. So why not make the best of my new in-house, would-be king.....and then pull the rug out from under him.
I'm Paul Thomas goddamnit! I'll think of something...Stay Tuned on this one.
I hope you are beginning to understand some of the challenges that go into getting the very best out of these high strung pedigrees. When hard core sex (and a lot of it) is thrown into the cauldron of normal filmmaking problems, you have a very combustible little circus.
- Paul "PT" Thomas
* "The Masseuse" is a film PT directed in 2004 starring Jenna Jameson as a rubdown expert who decides to expand her business. We'll leave it to you to find out how. The dark, moody film has been hailed as an instant classic, sweeping the AVN Awards that year and spawning 5 sequels in just two years.
Debbie Does Dallas... Again Airs Every Friday @ 11pm on Showtime
Posted by: Shylar, on: Thursday, March 15th 2007
So I've done a lot of reality tv. Everything from Jerry Springer to Comedy Central's "Con" to"Porno Valley" a 12 part series on Vivid and now a 7 part series for Showtime called "Debbie Does Dallas..Again" and by far this latest one was the most fun to be part of.
Being followed around by a crew while trying to produce a big film with 5 Vivid girls in it is not the best way to make a movie. In the end, both projects turned out to be wonderful.
The movie and TV show were shot over the summer of 2006, with principle shooting ending in mid August. When a reality crew follows you around while you work, its weird at first, but you get used to it then you don't really notice they are there. In the beginning you watch your tongue and try not to talk to much sh*t about the people you work with. To me I didn't want the TV show to come out and my fellow cast and crew watch me talk a bunch of sh*t about them. As the weeks passed I didn't give a sh*t anymore and just spoke my mind and I think the cast did the same and I hope it plays that way on TV. There is enough drama on a regular porn set to make 10 TV shows, not to mention when you have a reality crew there, the drama just gets bigger.
So I watched the first show last Friday with my wife. I was hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was produced. It was slick and the way it was shot was different than most reality TV shows. They used different kinds of camera angles that really made it seem that the camera was not there or a better way to put is that the camera felt like a person or as the viewer you feel like you're there in the room with the stuff happening around you. In the end my wife and I enjoyed the show. I had great response from my friends and family as well. Everyone now thinks I'm a dildo/strap-on expert! One of the things I find funny about working in porn is that friends of my family and me always look to us as sex experts. I will be talking to the mother of one of my son's friends and she will out of the blue ask me if I can teach her husband how to make her squirt. Things like that happen all the time and let me be the first to tell you I am no expert and I am still learning myself.
The first episode shows the process of how we came up with the idea to shoot a big budget film using the "Debbie does Dallas" name, casting choices and introduces the Vivid girls and Vivid VIPs.
In the first show, we got to meet the four vivid girls (Monique Alexander, Sunny Leone, Cassidey and Stefani Morgan). All good girls but each have their own agenda and all want the part of Debbie. Stefani...who thinks she was promised the part and that her sh*t doesn't stink therefore she has to be Debbie. Monique...who thinks she can act better then any of them so she deserves the part and will do anything to get it. Sunny...who only works with girls but will consider taking the plunge into the boy/girl pool if she gets the part and Cassidey....who I don't think really cares if she's Debbie or not. We meet Paul "PT" Thomas who is to direct this epic. I've worked with PT for 10 years and if anyone can shoot an epic while doing a reality show he can, but you know PT was talent before he was a director, so when the reality crew is there PT overacts while directing and becomes bigger than big. We also met Steve Hirsch, the big boss. What you saw of him is really how is. I like to think of him as a dad in the sense that I want his approval on the jobs we do for him and watching the series you will see that. The last person we met is Marci, the V.P. of Production. Marci is the best and was also shot like she really is. We call her the Vivid mom.
There was little drama in this first show but trust me the shooting of "Debbie Does Dallas...Again" was a nightmare and full of drama. I just hope that the reality crew caught it. I was afraid there wasn't going to be enough nudity due to the fact that its on Showtime, but there was plenty and I was really pleased with that, cause frankly that's what we do, shoot people naked fu**ing each other. People want to see naked girls and guys so I was happy to see Showtime was able to show them that. I can't wait til next week's show.
Try to check it out
:Fridays ,on Showtime @ 11pm,and air for 7 weeks every Friday @ 11pm.I'm sure it will replay on 1 of the many Showtime channels that is on the system.
